Frequently Asked Questions
We at Pet Memorials often get many questions from our customers, we have tried to compile the most popular questions to try and save our time as well as our customers. If you can’t find an answer to a question then please do not hesitate to ‘contact us’.
-
What pets do you cater for?
We mostly cater for Dog Memorials, Cat Memorials, Horse Memorials, and Rabbit’s Memorials. But with this said there is no restriction on what type of animal or pet we can make a pet memorial for, we have made these pages to make the purchasing easier, if you have a pet not listed then simply give us a ring or use the contact page.
-
Are your pet memorial stones engraved or painted?
Our pet memorial freestanding/headstones and plaques are all engraved then painted with the colour of your choice, or if you prefer you can leave it unpainted.
-
What is the thickness of your pet memorials?
The thickness of freestanding headstones/upright memorial stones do vary since we use naturally formed slate, with this said we always ensure that the stones we use are a good thickness (normally 50mm to 80mm) and able to stand up on their own and resistant to the British Weather.
-
Do you offer some kind of guarantee?
We always contact our customers before we start the engraving process to ensure that you are 100% satisfied how your memorial will look, once you have agreed for us to proceed with your chosen design the item becomes non-refundable due to the fact once a stone has been worked on they simply can’t be resold unlike high street items we simply can’t put back onto the shelf.
Should you not be happy before we start engraving then the paid amount if fully refundable as you would expect.
-
My item has arrived but it’s damaged, what do I do?
We are sorry to hear that your item has been received damaged please contact our Pet Memorials team at once using the contact page.
-
How long will my memorial stone take to arrive?
It normally takes around 10 working days for a pet memorial to arrive, however this could be delayed if payment received was delayed, or the mockup was not quickly agreed. The ETA delivery times on product pages are mere estimates, please contact us for a more reliable delivery date.
-
How long will slate memorials last for?
It’s hard to say but due to the weather the text color may not last as long in some areas to others, but we have already had customers for over 11 years and non-have reported this problem, the engraving and the stone will last for hundreds of years, the engraving can always been highlighted.
-
Do you deliver outside of the United Kingdom?
You bet we do, but sadly due to the weight of these items you will be expected to pay the additional shipping costs, It’s worth mentioning that all our margins are included within the stone and workmanship itself and not within the delivery costs, what you pay for delivery is exactly what we pay.
-
Can I use my own images for my Pet Memorial?
Some images do tend to look better than others, our design tool does give you a good estimation what these images will look like, clipart tends to work best as they are outline and silhouette images, though if you have something else in mind we will include in the mockup and let you decide.
-
Can I use my own font for my Pet Memorial?
Yes you can, simply contact us with the name of font you’d like to use, however please note that some fonts work better than others, we will include this within the mock up design and let you decide, but once engraving has started no refundable will be due if you dislike your chosen choice, our preloaded fonts are proven to work.
-
Can I send you my very own art work for my Pet Memorial?
Yes no problem at all, we only accept EPS or AI (Adobe Illustrator), High Resolution JPEG, BITMAP and TIFF files. We sometimes do receive artwork that is not very ideal for our stones, if this is the case we will contact you to discuss your options.
